3 DIY Face Masks

Hi Guys, I’m back with another DIY for you and this time it is 3 DIY face masks that are really easy to make and really good for your skin.  If you haven’t seen my video yet  as always just click the picture below.

3 DIY Face Masks

I mentioned in my video that I would write a post for you guys on the individual ingredients and why they are good for your skin.  I’m going to start with natural yoghurt as that is the base for all 3 DIY face masks.

Natural yoghurt

Yoghurt contains lactic acid and alpha hydroxy acid that dissolve dead skin cells.  It is a great natural exfoliant and even if you do not have dry skin it will still get rid of the layer of dead skin that sits on the surface.  It moisturises, fights acne, prevents premature ageing, relieves sunburn and helps to reduce discolouration.

3 DIY Face Masks

Chocolate orange face mask.  1/2 a cup of natural yoghurt, 3 tsp of cocoa powder, 1/2 an orange and 2 tsp of honey.

Cocoa powder

Cocoa powder helps add a glow to the skin and is surprisingly moisturising.  It is rich in antioxidants, helps fight against ageing, prevents blemishes and promotes collagen production for tighter skin.

Orange juice

Orange juice contains citric acid which helps to dry up acne, it also contains fruit acids which exfoliate, it helps to fade blemishes and shrink pores.

Honey

Honey is a natural humectant which draws moisture from the air into the skin, it is a gentle exfoliator, its antibacterial and it helps to fade scars.

3 DIY Face Masks

Creamy avocado face mask.  1/2 a cup of natural yoghurt, 1/2 an avocado and 3 tsp of olive oil.

Avocado

Avocado has vitamin A and E which have antioxidant properties to repair damaged skin. It adds moisture and fights ageing, it helps deflect and fight free radicals and also penetrates deep into the skin to draw out impurities.

Olive oil

Olive oil contains antioxidants which help with premature ageing, it has vitamin E which also has anti-ageing benefits, it prevents free radicals and is extremely moisturising.

3 DIY Face Masks

Banana bread face mask.  1/2 a cup of natural yoghurt, 1 banana, 1 tsp of cinnamon, and 3 tsp of honey.

Banana

Banana’s contain potassium which hydrates and moisturises the skin.  It has vitamin B which protects against free radicals and vitamin A which heals dry skin.  It helps to fade acne scars and contains zinc which fights acne causing germs.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is really good for curing acne, pimples and blemishes.  It also improves blood flow for a plumping effect.

Honey

Honey is a natural humectant which draws moisture from the air into the skin, it is a gentle exfoliator, its antibacterial and it helps to fade scars.

As I mentioned in my video if you are allergic to anything then please don’t use it and if you have sensitive skin you definitely want to avoid the cinnamon and possibly the orange.

You will need to store them in the fridge as they are all fresh ingredients.  Many people always ask how long you can keep them for.  The answer is simple! It’s just food so smell it, if it doesn’t smell right then its gone bad and you shouldn’t use it.

I hope you enjoy my 3 DIY face masks and I would love to hear your feedback if you try them out yourselves.

Have a great day guys
