How to arrange flowers in a square vase
I have absolutely loved the way flowers look in a square or rectangular vase for ages. Prior to moving I didn’t have the chance to experiment with this as A- I didn’t have a square vase and B- no one ever bought me flowers.
I’m now living alone and I buy myself flowers and have picked up square and rectangular vase’s. I was so excited to use them so I picked up some flowers the first chance I had. I trimmed the stem of the flowers as you are supposed to and put them into the vase and this happened….
Has this happened to you? Or am I the only one that couldn’t figure this out?
I tried cutting the stems down a lot smaller in the hope that would make it look better but nope!
With some experimentation and a little research I found the solution and you will not believe how easy it is.
I used washi tape here as I thought it would be easier for you guys to see but it worked perfectly well. You can use any kind of tape you like, clear tape so you can’t see it, coloured tape to match your flowers or even go for a contrasting colour and make a statement.
Just do as you see in the picture and put strips of tape across the opening of the vase like a checkerboard.
You will still need to cut the stems of the flowers quite considerably to give the best effect. Place one or two flowers through each space and arrange until your happy.
It’s so simple but so effective!
It works just the same in a rectangular vase, see……
I hope you guys found this helpful and now you to know how to arrange flowers in a square vase.
